Professor Szostek Specializes in the law of new technologies, including electronic commerce and consumer law. He is an expert in the field of electronic identification, including verification methods.
Extraordinary Professor in the Chair of Civil Law and Procedure, Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Opole. Member of the Katowice Department of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Commission of Legal and Economic Sciences. Cooperates with the Centre for Research on Legal and Economic Issues of Electronic Communication at the University of Wrocław Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics.
He participates in numerous scientific conferences, as well as work on legislation to regulate legal issues surrounding new technologies; he has also served in expert panels for the Ministry of Justice, and he conducts both lectures and seminars.
Professor Szostek is the author of numerous publications in such areas as computerization of courtroom proceedings, electronic documents and electronic signatures, electronic forms of juridical acts, law of the Internet, electronic contracts, consumer law and e-administration. The new book ist Blockchain and Law - C.H. Beck (November 2018).
